Transport of glycerine
MARLEP – The tanker for glycerine
Glycerine is the trivial name for propane-1,2,3-triol, a trivalent sugar alcohol that is a non-hazardous substance. Glycerine has a sweet taste, is colorless and odorless at room temperature, slightly viscous and hygroscopic liquid and is used in the food industry, among others. As an approved food additive with the number E 422, it is mainly used to keep dates or chewing gum moist, for example, and as a sweetener.
Glycerine is also used in agriculture, medicine and as a platform chemical in the chemical industry. When transporting glycerine, as with all foodstuffs, the highest safety and hygiene standards must be observed. MARLEP specializes in the international transport of liquid, temperature-controlled foodstuffs for the food industry and is therefore also a proven and reliable logistics partner for the transport of glycerine.
Our tankers for your glycerine transport
Our modern fleet consists of around 100 insulated stainless steel tankers, which offer a capacity of up to 33,000 liters and are available with different chamber sizes. The single or multi-chamber tankers not only meet the Euro 6 standard and therefore protect the environment thanks to their low fuel consumption (less than 26.5 liters per 100 km), they are also equipped with all the technical equipment required for the safe transport of food and sensitive goods.
Our tankers are equipped with heating systems and efficient insulation that keep the liquid goods at the predefined temperature level regardless of the ambient temperature. Integrated sterile filters ensure sterile loading and unloading, as well as self-sufficient electric pumps, on-board compressors and hoses. In this way, we ensure that everything always runs smoothly, even when transporting glycerine.
Quality and reliability are important to us
For the transportation of products for the food industry numerous laws and standards must be observed. First and foremost is the European Food Hygiene Regulation (EC) No. 852/2004, which sets out, among other things, the requirements for the hygiene of foodstuffs. Condition and cleaning of transport containers are defined.
The Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points concept (HACCP) is a preventive, internationally recognized safety system that aims to identify risks in advance and thus avoid them as far as possible.
The International Food Standard Logistics (IFS) establishes quality guidelines for the safe transportation of food ; these guidelines are also part of the basis for certification.
MARLEP Tanklogistik hassuccessfully passed the IFS audit “Transport and forwarding of liquid food and raw materials for the food industry” 2022 with 99.04 % and is of course also certified according to HACCP – because safety needs clear rules.
